the morning paper .. on social platforms
The morning does seem to be the best time to share on many social media platforms. I think it may be a "morning paper" sort of thing. "Let me look at all the news before I get too far into my day..."
My new social media friend Rebecca Coleman in Vancouver has written about this on her blog this week. She has listed some tools that I also use to keep the conversation scheduled but not over-automated.
I'm not patient enough to create an Excel spread sheet like she recommends. I do map out on Hootsuite most everything at least 2 days out for fresh content and then keep reacting to audience experiences in relation to that content.
If I'm on schedule, I monitor on Twitter and Instagram every 15 min to 30 min and on FB and Google+ every hour and LinkedIn 2 times a day, for all my clients. I encourage them to do so as well. Crowdbooster helps a lot, as well as some of my other favorite tools.
No matter what the charts tell you, you need to know your own audience to know when they are ready to engage with you. If you have an event, be ready when the people are ready to share those experiences!
