I began working in contemporary and abstract expression in the mid 1990s. Earlier work focused on basic elements such as water and wind, fire and steel, nature and its seasons. After a hand injury left me unable to paint for over 18 months I retreated to Santa Fe New Mexico in the Spring of 2003 for a renewal both for inspiration and guidance from other expressionists that I respect greatly.
Work from this new period on canvas has brought increased enthusiasm for its effort to create multimedia spaces with energy and movement while creating dual thought through a series of antique photographs and other multi media through multi-layered acrylic. The technique of using water in different streams of force and natural texture elements with acrylic on canvas has allowed me to express several different new ideas and inspirations.
2004 and 2005 brought several popular abstract series on behaviors, whimsical animals and large landscapes. 2006 expanded the expression work to show places in my memory or places I wish existed.
2007 and 2008 will concentrate on abstract expressions of people and places.
